I had a dream that I was a regular guest for the Ellen Show and in one of the shows we spent most of the time looking at funny videos while the audience just sat there in awkward silence. and I was wondering if the viewers liked me or not and if I was bringing higher ratings for the show.

I live in two worlds. One is a world of books. I’ve been a resident of Faulkner’s Yoknapatawpha County, hunted the white whale aboard the Pequod, fought alongside Napoleon, sailed a raft with Huck and Jim, committed absurdities with Ignatius J. Reilly, rode a sad train with Anna Karenina and strolled down Swann’s Way. It’s a rewarding world, but my second one is by far superior. My second one is populated with characters slightly less eccentric, but supremely real, made of flesh and bone, full of love, who are my ultimate inspiration for everything. Richard and Emily Gilmore are kind, decent, unfailingly generous people. They are my twin pillars, without whom I could not stand. I am proud to be their grandchild.

it’s amazing how for 13 years of my life I was able to wake up at 6am 5 days a week and now I can’t even manage waking up for a 1pm class twice a week

so i quit my job today, or rather I will be officially unemployed in a week.

This means I have absolutely no real plans for the summer.

I have options though…

I can use my money saved up to buy a ticket to Ecuador and attend my cousin’s wedding, or apply to internships as soon as possible and take summer courses, or try and get another job.

One thing I definitely don’t want happening is me doing nothing for 3 months and slipping into a deeper pit of self loathing. :)
